The former Bellator flyweight champion Ilima-lei Macfarlane returns to the cage on August 12, 2022.
Bellator 284 will occur in Sanford Pentagon, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Ilima-lei, having suffered back-to-back losses in her recent fights, will face Brazil’s top flyweight, Bruna Ellen.
The Ilimanator is a 32-year-old Hawaiian fighter with a fight record of 11 wins and two losses. Ilima-lei Macfarlane captured the flyweight title in 2017 when she finished the opponent Emily Ducote in round 5.
Macfarlane defended her title four times successfully from 2018-2019. Ilima-lei’s flyweight division reign ended in December 2020, when she faced Juliana Velasquez.
Her homecoming to Hawaii, and probably the ticket back to the title shot, was recently spoiled when she faced Justin Kish.
