Hawaii MMA Weekly Recap – Zach Close, Puni Pagaoa, Quran Walker and Christian Lee

Hawaii fighters grabbed the wins yesterday at One Championship, LFA, and Crown fighting championship.

Christian Lee vs. Ok Rae Yoon 2
One FC, Singapore

Christian Lee’s hard work paid off yesterday when he put away Ok Rae Yoon for good. Lee unleashed big kicks and punches like never before. With speed and accuracy, Ok Rae Yoon fell on his knees multiple times till he want able to stand anymore. 

Ok, Rae Yoon tried to square off with Lee’s stand-up game but to no avail. 

Christian Lee vowed to hurt Ok Rae Yoon, and he did just that. He became the Lightweight Champion for the fourth time at 24 years old.

Aupuni Pagaoa vs. Dillon Cox
LFA

Aupuni Pagaoa defeated Dillon Cox with a unanimous decision win. Puni’s striking was on point, and so was his take-down defense. 

Puni left it all out there last week when he faced Dillon Cox. He dominated the rounds with his superior striking skills and escaped tight submission attempts.

This is Puni’s third win at LFA; with two knockouts and one decision victory, Puni’s future in MMA will be eminent.

Zach Close versus Jared Painter
Crown FC, Las Vegas 

Our third Hawaii fighter victorious in life is Zachary Close from Haleiwa.

Zach Close defeated opponent Jared Painter via rear naked choke in round 1.

Zach close is finally back in action after three long years of not fighting. 

Zach took down his opponent to the ground, a little bit of ground and pound before taking his back. 

Quran Walker versus Ian Radford
Main event at Crown FC, Las Vegas 

Que Walker finally got his first victory as a professional, (1-1) and the main event of the night. The fight last for about 16 seconds and the referee stopped the fight. After one leg kick, Ian Radford fell into his knees, and tried to survive against Que Walker.

Leg kick broke his leg from what we could see.

 

The Young Boys INC team went 1-3 at Crown Fighting Championship in Vegas. The boys showed up, made weights, and fought their hearts out. Quran Walker, the main event of the evening, got the win, defeating his opponent Ian Radford in just 16 seconds of round 1.
