Holloway vs. Porier – April 13, 2019 Atlanta

Holloway vs. Porier: Will we see another double champ at UFC 236?

Holloway vs. PorierTwo interim title fights have been scheduled for UFC 236 on April 13, with Max Holloway moving up to Lightweight to challenge #3 contender Dustin Poirier.

The other title fight is at Middleweight where Israel Adesanya coming off a decision win over legend Anderson Silvia and will take on Kelvin Gastelum.

It’s fair to say Dana White and the UFC love feeding interim title fights to their fans, and by now we all now they don’t guarantee an immediate actual title shot afterwards as we seen with the treatment of Colby Covington and his WWE-esque reaction. This makes sense why Tony Ferguson turned down the offer to fight against Dustin Poirer for this interim title, as he once held the Lightweight interim belt, but injuries happened thus delaying the fight we all want Ferguson vs. Khabib.

The early money on off-shore sportsbooks has been put on Max Holloway, who has been on a tear at featherweight going undefeated since losing to Conor McGregor in 2013. That’s 13 wins in a row, the past four of which were by TKO.

Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier Betting Odds:

Max Holloway (-275)

Dustin Poirier (+225)

Let’s not forget that this is a rematch at a different weight class, originally Holloway and Poirier met earlier in their MMA career. Where Poirier (24-5, 1 NC) handed Holloway (20-3) his first MMA loss via submission at UFC 143.

Both fighters have evolved and matured in a huge way since then, the odds are in favour suggesting Holloway will become the UFC’s next double champ. Sportbooks have not started offering props yet, when they do though there will be more value in Poirer as an underdog by submission again. So stay tuned for more updates by Betting Insider Journal as the fight approaches!

Israel Adesanya vs. Kelvin Gastelum Betting Odds:
