Hawaiian Fighter Louis Smolka is back on the UFC roster.
The former UFC flyweight will make the trip up to bantamweight for his second round in the biggest show in MMA.
Released in 2017 after dropping four straight fights, Smolka pointed to a drinking problem as a major contributor to his decline. Angling for better results in and out of the cage, the Hawaiian vowed to get his life back on track.
In addition, Smolka also stated the UFC promised with a couple wins outside the organization, he’d be welcomed back. The UFC has upheld its word, inking the 27-year-old fighter to a multi-fight deal.
Prior to his losing streak, Smolka was off to a hot start in his promotional tenure. From his debut in January of 2014, to UFC Sioux Falls in July of 2016, Smolka went 5-1 in the promotion, including wins over Ben Nguyen and Neil Seery.
In what is maybe his most notable career moment to date, Smolka headlined UFC Dublin in October of 2015, defeating hometown favorite Paddy Holohan by second-round submission.
We are proud so see Louis get another shot. We wish him the best of Luck back in the UFC!!!
