Punahele Soriano was just about to get over his first L when he was hit with another split decision Loss.
Three rounds of digging deeper type of fight and Punahele Soriano’s wrestling background has no match for Nick Maximov’s grappling and high-class wrestling.
Nick Maximov came off as the least favorite in the first and second round when the tide started to shift on the third. Maximov dug deep under Soriano’s skin and managed to dictate the fight.
With blood dripping into his eye for most of the fight, Maximov relied on his wrestling to repeatedly take Soriano to the ground, which helped him win the scorecards.
Two judges gave Maximov the fight with 30-27 and 29-28, while the third official gave Soriano a 29-28 score.
Still, it was enough for Maximov to get the win as he moved to 8-0 in his career and 2-0 in the UFC. Nick Maximov has outdone himself this time.
